According to transfer news from Metro, AC Milan are interested in signing three Chelsea stars over the summer. The Italian giants are close to sealing a deal for Fikayo Tomori and want the duo of Olivier Giroud and Hakim Ziyech as well.
Having been deprived of game time at the Bridge, Tomori moved to Milan in January, where he thrived endlessly. The 23-year-old quickly went about establishing himself as a mainstay at the back for the Rossoneri. Tomori will join AC Milan on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell. The English defender is seemingly not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the future. He has a £25m buyout clause as part of the loan agreement that AC Milan are close to activating.
Despite a contract extension for Giroud, it’s not certain that the World Cup winner will be remaining at Chelsea. Prior to the extension, he was set on a move to AC Milan, having expressed his admiration for the likes of Milan legends Marco van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko.
After a bright beginning though, things have hit rough terrain for Ziyech at Stamford Bridge, with injuries playing a role in his difficult debut season. Even when he has been fit, Ziyech wasn’t favoured a great deal by manager Thomas Tuchel.
With Chelsea also targeting some new names for the summer transfer window, it is clear that some players might make way. AC Milan have shown interest in all the above-mentioned names and could line up a triple raid for them.
Letting Tomori and Giroud leave is understandable but Ziyech is just a year into his Chelsea stay. The Moroccan is a talented player and should be given more opportunities. Nonetheless, it does look like Chelsea and AC Milan will be doing some transfer business this summer.
