According to transfer news from The Sun, Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour is considering moving on a loan deal. It has been a tough season for the youngster under Thomas Tuchel, where he has hardly gotten a look in.
The Scottish midfielder has found game time tough to come by under Tuchel ever since his appointment. The former PSG boss even stopped a loan move for Gilmour at the end of the January transfer window.
But the Scotland international has only featured in a handful of games over the season. Ha has been afforded only three Premier League games over the last season. With the likes of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic playing week in week out, Gilmour has had to play the role of a deputy.
However, now the 20-year-old is pondering over a loan move away from Chelsea. He feels that a temporary move away, like Mason Mount had with Derby, could help him. Gilmour is also hoping that a strong showing for Scotland in the Euros will enhance his chances of getting a loan offer.
Chelsea have an oversized squad at this point, with several players slipping to the fringes. Given that the likes of Gilmour are still young, his growth will be hampered if he is benched. The Blues would be better served if they allow him to go out on loan and get some first-team experience.
