According to transfer news from Mirror, Erling Haaland has expressed interest in a move to Chelsea. The Blues are understood to be leading the race for the Borussia Dortmund star. But they are likely to sign him next year when his release clause drops.
The Norwegian hitman has taken Europe by storm with his goal-scoring exploits for RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund. In 59 outings for the latter, he has scored 57 goals. Chelsea have held an interest in the player for a while now as they try to add a striker to their ranks.
It looked as if Haaland was surely heading for the exit. But with Dortmund’s Champions League qualification ensured for next season, there is a chance that he remains in Westfalenstadion. Whatever be the case, it is expected that clubs like Chelsea and both Manchester sides would go after him.
It has now been reported that Chelsea are ahead of every club in the race for Haaland. The player has also expressed an interest in a possible move to Chelsea. It has also been said that the Blues will wait for another year. His release clause will go down to around £65m in 2022.
