“Have to change clubs”: Chelsea-linked €70m-rated La Liga star drops major exit hint

Transfer News: Chelsea target Jules Kounde drops summer exit hint

According to news outlet Metro, Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who has been linked with a transfer to Chelsea, has all but confirmed that he will be on the move this summer.

Kounde signed for Sevilla in the summer of 2019 and has quickly grown into one of the most coveted central defenders in Europe. The Frenchman enjoyed a stunning debut campaign in Spain, helping Los Nervionenses to the UEFA Europa League title and enjoyed another fine season in 2020/21.

Widely regarded as one of the top young defenders in Europe currently, Kounde has attracted a lot of transfer interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid, while Chelsea are also keen on securing his services in the summer.

And, Kounde, who has been called up for the Euros by the French national team, has pretty much confirmed that he will leave Sevilla this summer, handing interested parties including Chelsea a major boost in his pursuit.

“Regarding my future, it’s certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer. But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not decided anything. My goal is to play for a big club, to try to always progress and to win trophies. It’s true that I might have to move but that’s not relevant today.”

Sevilla, as one would expect, are extremely reluctant to lose their prized asset in the summer transfer window. However, the La Liga giants would be open to a sale in case their valuation of €70m is met by any club.
