£40m Chelsea star has ‘reached point of no return’; Two PL clubs interested

Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham wanted by West Ham, Leicester City

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has reached a point of no return after being constantly snubbed by manager Thomas Tuchel and is headed for a summer exit. West Ham United and Leicester City are interested in the 23-year-old.

A product of the Chelsea youth academy, Abraham got his first-team breakthrough under Frank Lampard last season. After a brilliant start, the striker faded during the second half of the campaign, losing his place to Olivier Giroud. The summer arrival of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz meant his opportunities became even more limited this term.

While he did get game-time under Lampard, things have gone from bad to worse for the England international under Tuchel. Indeed, the German has constantly overlooked Abraham in his selection, dropping him out of matchday squads on a regular basis, including in the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City last weekend.

This, despite Abraham being Chelsea’s joint-top scorer with 12 goals, alongside Timo Werner. It must be noted that the Englishman has netted those goals in 32 games in all competitions whereas the summer signing has taken 50 matches. But, Abraham has had to contend with just over 200 minutes of football under Tuchel, hinting that his future lies elsewhere.

And, it seems like the Chelsea academy graduate will not have any shortage of suitors heading into the summer transfer window. Indeed, the 23-year-old is being courted by West Ham United and Leicester City, both of whom could potentially provide him European football next season.

The report adds that there are plenty of other clubs apart from the aforementioned two, that would be happy to sign Abraham, who is valued at £40m by Chelsea.
