According to Football.london, Chelsea fans can rest knowing Olivier Giroud is well and good going into the game against West Ham United.
The French ace was taken off in the second half of our 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Thankfully, his departure was due to tactical reasons rather than any injury concerns.
Given the struggles Timo Werner is going through, having Giroud available is a massive boost.
The veteran Frenchman has once against stepped up when the club needs him. With six goals in his last five matches, he has shown age has done little to blunt his ability in front of goal. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Werner meanwhile is going through a lean spell. He has not scored in his last eight games for the Blues and looks short of confidence.
Giroud was once again on target against Wolves. He gave us the lead but unfortunately, we could not hold on.
According to the Telegraph (h/t The Daily Mail), Frank Lampard believes Giroud is now aware of his importance to the team after starting our last three Premier League games.
The Blues is convicned that the 34-year-old will stay at the club beyond January. With his contract set to expire in the summer, it would apepar he is set to see out his time at the club.
With two Premier League losses on the bounce, Chelsea have squandered a golden opportunity to rise up the table. However, we are still within touching distance and can regain momentum with a win over the Hammers.
The fixture will once again give us a first-hand opportunity to scout Declan Rice. The Hammers star has been consistently linked with a return to Stamford Bridge.
