According to FC Inter News (h/t Football.london), Inter Milan are willing to wait until the end of the transfer window to sign Chelsea star Emerson Palmieri.
Now led by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, the Nerazzurri are still interested in the Chelsea star. However, they do not view him as a priority anymore.
Having signed Aleksandar Kolarov from AS Roma, the Italians are in no hurry to pursue a deal for Emerson and could play the long game.
Having signed Ben Chilwell, Emerson is effectively the third choice left-back at the club.
The 26-year-old joined Chelsea in January 2018 from Roma. He has unfortunately never been able to establish himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge.
Since joining the club, Emerson has made 55 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and creating five more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
He played a largely peripheral role and made just 21 appearances last season. It is notable that he played just six times for the club since the turn of the year. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Inter are not the only Italian side keen on Emerson. Napoli too have been keeping tabs on the defender and were recently believed to have been leading the chase.
With Inter now cooling their interest somewhat, Napoli could steal a march on their rivals and land the 26-year-old.
Despite Napoli’s interest, a move for Emerson is dependent on the departure of Faouzi Ghoulam. (h/t Independent)
The Italian looked set to leave the club earlier in the window. The latest development now has cast a doubt on that. It would appear that a move is the best bet for both us and the player.
