It is certainly an exciting time to be a Chelsea fan. The Blues have enjoyed a brilliant transfer window so far, making a number of key signings already.
And, when the new arrivals make immediate impact and show signs of quality, the excitement knows no bound. That was the case earlier today when Chelsea faced off against Brighton & Hove Albion in a pre-season friendly.
Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech made their debuts in the game. And just four minutes in, Ziyech delivered a brilliant cross into the box, which was headed down into the path of Werner, who made no mistake from point-blank range to score his first goal.
It was a brilliant move, with both the new signings showing their class and quality. A Pascal Gross penalty in the second half meant, the spoils were shared in the friendly clash.
Ziyech picked up a knock during the match and had to be taken off, which is a bit of a concern. Nevertheless, it was a positive outing and the fans reacted to Werner’s goal in his first game for us.
