Chelsea willing to bid £20million for rising Italian youngster

Chelsea are willing to bid £20million for Brescia youngster Sandro Tonali, according to the Sun.

The 18-year-old Italian has impressed since making his first-team debut last season. Maurizio Sarri even sent scouts to watch the youngster in Brescia’s 4-1 win against Padova, as per the report.

The defensive midfielder has three assists to his name from seven Serie B games this season. The report further claims that Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Roma are interested in signing him.

The report adds that the Chelsea manager tried to sign the 18-year-old when he was coaching Napoli.

Tonali seems to have big shoes to fill as the report dubs him as the new ‘Andrea Pirlo’ and Chelsea have made the 18-year-old a priority.

The youngster is contracted at the Serie B club till 2021 and could become one of the best players from Italy in recent years.

Chelsea signed Jorginho from the Serie A in the summer and have a number of options for their midfield with Ethan Ampadu and Ruben Loftus-Cheek trying to break into the first-team.

Tonali would be a decent addition to the ranks but it seems unlikely for him to start regularly in our first-team.
