The countdown to the 2018 Russia World Cup has finally begun.
The biggest and the most prestigious tournament in global football, the World Cup provides a platform for the youngsters to shine and make a mark.
There will be a plethora of Chelsea talent on their way to Russia in summer. In fact, there could be close to 20 players, which means Antonio Conte will be without several of his stars for their pre-season tour in Australia ahead of the 2018/19 campaign as they all will be expecting a mini-break after the glamorous event.
Here are three Chelsea players that would surely be going to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Hazard is Belgium national team’s skipper and that would see him board the plane to Russia.
The playmaker has been of the shining lights for Chelsea in an otherwise topsy-turvy campaign. Expectations will be huge for him to reproduce what he is doing for Chelsea. Even if there are some speculations of transfer, Hazard will remain focused for upcoming national teams competition.
Thibaut Courtois is Belgium’s number one goalkeeper and one of the best across Europe. His shot-stopping abilities and reflexes are top-notch and Belgium will certainly need his services.
Just like Chelsea, there is very little danger he will lose that spot for the Red Devils.
Willian has been arguably Chelsea’s best player this season. The 29-year-old is guaranteed to make the Brazil World Cup squad if he remains fit.
Brazil could field a forward line of Willian, Neymar and Firmino which will also represent one of the deadliest attacks in the glitz and glamour tournament in summer.
Thrilling and exciting matches are ahead, the World Cup will surely be the biggest event this year. National teams will fight till the end, even if the odds are not in their favor. Seeing these Chelsea stars in World Cup will surely increase their team’s chances of winning, even predicting and betting on this event winners wont be so easy.
