Chelsea have long been looking to bring back Romelu Lukaku into the Stamford Bridge, however, the Blues are finding the deal a tough go as Everton are reluctant to let go of the player.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to break their record fee of £50m for Fernando Torres in 2011, so as to bring Lukaku who may be worth up to £70m.
Further understanding Everton’s concern over their own squad if they let Lukaku leave the club, Chelsea have now planned to offer a cash plus player deal to the Toffees sighting Loic Remy as a possible replacement for Lukaku in Everton.
Remy failed to impress at the Bridge under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink and this obviously does not help with his chances under the Italian manager Antonio Conte. Further, with the Blues looking to sign Lukaku and Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi already in the squad, Remy is put further behind in the pecking order.
Everton are well aware of Chelsea’s interest in the player and Lukaku’s keenness to join the Blues hence they are on the lookout for a replacement of the player and are considering Bas Dost and Wilfred Bony who may fit the temperament required.
