Antonio Rudiger is originally a Stuttgart player, but has spent the entire season at AS Roma on loan. During that time he has made 30 appearances and now looks like he will be one of the major targets for Chelsea in the summer.
AS Roma had the opportunity to make the move permanent, but the Italian club has decided to return Rudiger to Stuttgart. As a result Chelsea can now begin their pursuit of the player. The player is solidly built and at a height of 6’3″ he has a suitable frame for English Premier League. He has also made nine appearances for the Germany national team and has gained international experience.
Valued at £20 million, he is not exactly cheap, but given that Terry is likely to leave Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are in need of defensive reinforcement. Then again so are Liverpool and Arsenal and they may provide the competition to Chelsea’s bid.
