If you watched the Swansea vs Chelsea match over the weekend then most likely you wondered like me as to why Begovic was playing instead of Thiabut Courtois. After all there were no reports of Courtois being injured or not being fit.
Express Sport has reported that the reason why Begovic was chosen over Courtois is because the incoming manager Antonio Conte had asked Guus Hiddink to make the Bosnian play as he plans to make him the Chelsea no. 1 next season. What about Courtois? Well, the Belgian is likely to be sold in the summer as per the reports.
According to Daily Mail, the Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested to get hold of Courtois after they fumbled the deal with De Gea and Conte has apparently decided to sell the Belgian goalkeeper if they meet the £60 million asking price.
That is the reason why Begovic made his only second start of the season since November 2015.
