Don Balon has claimed that Chelsea are keeping a tab on La Liga striker Antoine Griezmann as the contract discussion between the Frenchman and the Spanish club has reached a standstill.
Several other clubs are also interested in Griezmann and Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain is said to be the other ones. As per the Sun, Atletico Madrid wants to double the player’s buyout clause to £115 million to shoo away any potential bid but the striker is not interested in doing that. Chelsea is reported to believe that Griezmann is an ideal replacement for Eden Hazard who is also wanted by Real and PSG.
Atletico are also interested to get Diego Costa back and a swap deal could be in place for the players. Griezmann has scored 39 goals in 67 games for the club and in spite of the heavy demand has declared that he is happy in Spain with Atletico Madrid.
He said: “I’m fine here, I’m at ease. I want to continue here and I think the club’s intention is not to sell, so I’m not going.”
