From The Opposition Corner…

Chelsea travel to the Emirates, in what should be a very interesting game on Saturday morning. Chelsea come off the back of a 1-0 victory against world-beaters Barcelona, whilst the home side were beaten by lesser opposition on their home turf, in the form of Wigan.

Chelsea vs. Barcelona Preview

Chelsea face Barcelona tonight in the Champions League semi-final, coming off the back of an enthralling 5-1 victory over neighbours Tottenham at the weekend.

David Luiz picked up an injury in that game, so Chelsea will be without him tonight, so Gary Cahill will fill in for him. The Catalan side have David Villa, Gerard Pique and Eric Abidal sidelined, so Chelsea have an opportunity to exploit the usual resilient defence of Barcelona.

Transfer Target 4: Edinson Cavani

The 25-year-old 6ft 2 striker, put his name on the map in the 2007 South American Youth Championship, attracting most of the big names in Italian football.

Late in the January of 2007, Palermo announced the signing of Cavani, who didn’t take long to make an impression. Entering the field with his team 1-0 down, just 15 minutes into his debut, he scored a peach of an equaliser, and the whole of Italy took notice.

Transfer Target 3: César Azpilicueta

One player that Chelsea would be mad to miss out on, is hardly a household name, but has all the ingredients to become one in the future.

César Azpilicueta, at only 22, is on the fringes of the prestigious Spanish national side, and that is no easy feat, with the defensive masterminds of Carlos Puyol, Gerard Pique, and Sergio Ramos to contend with.

Five-Star Chelsea Book Return to Wembley

Didier Drogba ran the show today, as Chelsea completed a five-star rout over neighbours Tottenham, to set up a showcase final with Liverpool in the FA Cup Final.

The first half was extremely cagey, until the Ivorian hitman hit a wonder-strike minutes before the interval, to send Di Matteo’s side in ahead.

From The Opposition Corner..

Chelsea take on a Tottenham team today in a semi-final clash at Wembley, that will mean much more than just a return trip. However, with both sides thrashing it out for remaining European spots, a victory here could be a huge psychological boost ahead of the remaining five games.

Transfer Target: Adam Johnson

Adam Johnson is one of a number of English wingers to have blossomed over the last few years, but many believe he is a wasted talent at Manchester City, with boss Roberto Mancini using him very sparingly, meaning Johnson isn’t getting the pitch time he wants, or deserves.

Transfer Target: Luka Modric

Luka Modric: Firmly on Chelseas radar this summerLuka Modric is hardly a new name to be linked with Chelsea. The last two transfer-windows, the newspapers have been plagued with figures, contracts, and supposed deals between the two,

In fact, last summer, some sources suggested he had already had a medical, but alas, he remains a Tottenham player, for now.
