Teenage sensation Romelu Lukaku is prepared to take the pain so he can succeed at Stamford Bridge

Whilst only 18, Lukaku is ready prove he is readt for regular first-team action in the premier League. In his first start in a Blue’s shirt he did not stop running for the whole game, a philosophy that he will adopt everytime he plays.

He said captain John Terry gave an inspiration speech to keep him going, despite struggling with cramp as the game went on.

Lukaku said: “He said I had to keep going because the team needed me,

“I know I have to suffer if I am to win things. I have to go through pain.

“Chelsea has a winning culture so if, I have to suffer to win something, I prefer to suffer.”

The skipper had come off the pitch after Alex was sent off, Frank Lampard was also brought on after Daniel Sturridge was injured.

With the exception of the two veteran subs, it was a very youthful Chelsea team, which included Josh, Romeu and Bertran.

The Belgian youngster admitted: “We have a lot of games this season.”

Before acknowledging: “I’m patient, but when I have the chance to play, I will do my best to show myself to the boss.”

Chelsea fans will want to see more of the youngster, especially hearing reports such as this as he is willing to give it his all and that he is one of their own.
