The Blues are thought to have increased their interest in Bolton’s Gary Cahill.                                                                                                                  

The ex-Villa defender has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the summer, but after a recommendation from John Terry the Blues are now thought to have joined the race to sign the £17m rated defender.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Andre Villa-Boas is keen to bring in a new defender, preferably an English one. Other names who are thought to be interesting the Portuguese boss are Everton’s Jack Rodwell and Birmingham’s Scott Dann.
