Blues out of Nasri Race

Yesterday, Arsene Wenger reassured Arsenal fans that Samir Nasri will not be leaving the club during pre-season but Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson does not believe this is the case.
Initially, it was thought that ourselves along with the two Manchester clubs were in a three-horse race to sign the talented Frenchman but with Michael Essien injured the Blues need midfield replacements but it looks like Andre Villas-Boas and the Chelsea hierarchy would prefer to push for Luka Modric.
As for United Sir Alex said: “I don’t think he is coming to United, that’s all I can tell you, I think he has agreed to go somewhere else.”
With United and ourselves looking unlikely to sign Nasri it leaves Manchester City favourites to sign him, and it will not provide a bidding war that Arsenal would have wanted.
