Chelsea target Dani Olmo wants to move to Manchester City

His potential move away from RB Leipzig has stirred up significant interest for Dani Olmo among Premier League giants, with Manchester City emerging as his preferred destination despite competition from clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old Spanish international, as per BILD, boasts a €60m release clause in his contract with RB Leipzig, making him an attractive prospect for top clubs in Europe.

Olmo’s versatility and attacking prowess make him an enticing prospect for any side in world football, where he could seamlessly slot into various roles in midfield and attack. Capable of operating as a central attacking midfielder or on the wing, Olmo possesses the skill set to contribute both goals and assists to any semi-decent lineup.

With speculation surrounding Bernardo Silva’s potential departure from Manchester City, Olmo could emerge as the ideal replacement, injecting fresh creativity and dynamism into the squad. Manchester City’s financial strength puts them in a prime position to activate Olmo’s release clause and secure his services, with BILD also suggesting they are leading the race for his signature.

Olmo to the Blues?

However, Chelsea also remain keen on acquiring Olmo to bolster their attacking options. The Blues need reinforcements in attack, and the addition of the versatile midfielder would provide a significant boost to their goal-scoring capabilities. Olmo’s ability to play across different positions adds an extra dimension to Chelsea’s attacking play, making him an appealing target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. In 21 appearances across all competitions this season, he has seven goals and five assists to boot.

Despite Chelsea’s interest, Olmo’s preference for a move to Manchester City presents a dilemma for the Blues. The allure of joining a club with a proven track record of competing for major trophies and working under the guidance of world-class manager Pep Guardiola may sway the Spanish international towards the Etihad Stadium.

While Olmo’s potential move to Manchester City may leave Chelsea in a precarious position, it underscores the competitive nature of the transfer market and the challenges of securing top talent. Nevertheless, Chelsea remain in contention for Olmo’s signature, and the final decision rests with the player himself.

Dani Olmo could present a very smart addition for Chelsea.

Ultimately, Olmo’s technical prowess and adaptability make him well-suited for the rigours of the Premier League, and a move to Manchester City or Chelsea would present an exciting opportunity for the Spanish midfielder. As negotiations unfold, both clubs will be eager to secure Olmo’s services and bolster their respective squads for the challenges ahead.
