Chelsea and Manchester United in tug-of-war for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise

The updated transfer policy at Stamford Bridge under Todd Boehly has been centered around signing high-potential youngsters and nurturing them into a familiar environment and structure. By the looks of it, the similar blueprint is expected to be followed by the Blues in the upcoming summer transfer window and they have already set eyes on their targets.

Chelsea could rekindle their interest in Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, who has been subject to links with Manchester United of late.

The horrendous displays from Antony since his £86million move to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022 has evoked United’s new-part-owners INEOS to look for a replacement and Michael Olise has landed up on their list of probables going into the summer.

Chelsea pushed Crystal Palace to boundaries in order to bring the Frenchman to West London last season which prompted the Eagles to hand the 22-year-old a new contract complemented by increasing his release clause at Selhurst Park to a reported £60million. The Red Devils are claimed to be giving a try to test Palace’s resolve once again this summer as they try to lure the French U21 international away from South London.

Although the race for landing Michael Olise will be a competitive one, with Manchester United interested and Chelsea rekindling their interests. Even Liverpool could consider a move for the Palace winger if Mo Salah were to leave the Anfield Stadium in the summer.

For Chelsea, they have to remember how injury-ridden Olise has been this season before putting money where their mouth is as The Blues have suffered such problems with past transfers. The 22-year-old also underwent a hamstring surgery at the commencement of the ongoing campaign.
