Dean Jones feels Chelsea midfielder market value could plummet in summer window

Journalist Dean Jones reveals Chelsea midfielder’s market value, whose future at the club remains doubtful. Tottenham Hotspur has pursued Conor Gallagher, and Jones says the player’s value is around £30 million or £35 million.

The Blues slapped a £50 million price tag in January, but no club moved for him, and now things could change as the club can see a drop in his value. Spurs are great admirers of the midfielder, and they see his signing as a dream move.

Chelsea, who are in dire need of making a profit, are open to selling the midfielder, who has so far dismissed the rumours of leaving the club but given the Blues want to avoid breaking the Financial Fair Play rule, anything can happen next summer window, and Jones has now given a recent update on Gallagher’s future and told GiveMeSport:

“His value is dropping. You could say his realistic value in the market is around £30 million or £35 million at the moment, and I think Tottenham would be willing to pay that.

“They weren’t willing to go up to £50 million in January. That’s why nothing ever came about, and I think that will remain the case. It’s an interesting one, but Tottenham definitely do hold a level of interest. They are just being a bit tentative at the moment about when they actually make their move.”

£30 million or £35 million is too less for the midfielder, and given Gallagher’s performance this season, which has been scintillating, he has to definitely deserve more. We will have to make as much as we can from the exit; otherwise, he should remain unsold given the quality he has brought to the squad.

If Tottenham consider him to be their ideal addition, we can expect them to pay at least as much as we are demanding for the midfield player. Gallagher’s departure will free up space for the Blues to sign new players, and he might help them make a significant profit next summer.

We will need to test Spurs’ resolve if they come knocking for Gallagher and should demand that they pay at least a decent sum. It remains to be seen if Spurs will be willing to pay that much for the midfielder, who has one year left on his contract.
