Mauricio Pochettino says Noni Madueke has reached heights at Chelsea he expected from forward

Mauricio Pochettino says Nono Madueke has finally reached the expectations he demanded from the forward and revealed it took him six months to demonstrate his calibre.

This season, the 21-year-old was barely utilised and was injured the majority of the time, but in the last two games, the youngster was on the scoresheet and since then has won over fans.

Last season as well, Madueke showed he is capable of becoming Chelsea’s future star, and his performance revealed that with the right coaching, he will certainly hit his ceiling soon.

However, Pochettino didn’t play the forward sufficiently this season, and it seemed like the manager had mistreated him. Nevertheless, the Argentine coach employed Madueke at the right time and it paid dividends.

Madueke has all the talent to become Chelsea’s best player, and alongside Mykhaylo Mudryk, he will certainly prove his worth. Pochettino has praised his performance in the last two games and said, His words were quoted by Fabrizio Romano:

“I am so happy with Noni Madueke; it took him nearly six months to realise what we expect from him. He has potential and talent in the way that he needs to do things and behave in the future if he wants to succeed.”

Many would have thought that Pochettino was neglecting Madueke because of his past relationship with the youngster at Tottenham Hotspur, but this wasn’t the case. The Argentine has plenty of youngsters on his plate, and it is not an easy task to nurture them as a whole. You will need to help them grow individually, and this is what the former Spurs manager did with Madueke. He was sending him a message on how to behave to get to the top. He was moulding a monster.
