Fulham plotting last-minute signing of Chelsea striker Armando Broja

According to Telegraph, (subscription required), Fulham have remained hopeful in pursuit of Chelsea striker Armando Broja and are optimistic that they can secure a last-minute deal with the Blues. Marco Silva is aiming to bring the 22-year-old to Fulham after making him his preferred signing in the January window.

Silva’s side has been left without a proven striker after Aleksandar Mitrovic joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. The West Londoners are said to be expecting £50 million from the suitors, so it will be interesting to see if the Cottagers will be able to match the figure.

Chelsea have so far yet to do business in the current transfer window, and it has been surprising that the club that was most active under Todd Boehly hasn’t signed or sold any players.

However, the club aims to offload players and make some profit before they can spend again, and the Blues have put some academy players on sale, such as Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja.

But, the transfer window has been difficult since the club has not yet received a bid for any of the players. But Fulham is still interested in Broja, so the Blues may get some good news before the transfer window closes.

Now it will be interesting to see because the last day of the transfer window is always chaotic as there will be plenty of players going out. Unexpected deals can happen because Chelsea have also been looking to sign a striker in the short term.

If they are able to sell the academy players, then we will also have some time to land a striker on loan. It all depends on Broja’s departure now, as it will free up some space in the squad.

Broja has so far failed to make an impact after returning from injury, and it seems like the Blues don’t have patience with him, so selling him will only be a wise option.
