Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed his thoughts on facing Liverpool in the EFL Carabao Cup final after the Reds secured a 3-2 aggregate victory against Fulham in the semi-finals. Pochettino acknowledged that Liverpool is a formidable and consistent team, anticipating a tough challenge in the upcoming final.

In response to the question about his feelings regarding the final matchup against Liverpool, here is what Pochettino stated via football.london :

“Yes, I think we are going to find a very solid and consistent team. Yes, they are going to be a tough opponent for us. A massive challenge for us, I think it is going to be good to face Liverpool. It’s going to be tough, but I think it’s going to be a great final.”

The Argentine manager’s acknowledgement of Liverpool’s strength highlights the respect he has for the opposition. Recognising Liverpool as a tough opponent suggests that Pochettino understands the quality and capabilities of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Moreover, this will be a replay of the EFL Carabao Cup final of the 2022 edition which Liverpool won against the Blues on penalties and secured a record ninth cup title. However, before the league cup final, the Blues will go head to against Jurgen Klopp’s men in the Premier League as well, in the next fixture after our FA Cup game against Aston Villa.
