Mukhaylo Mudryk thanks Chelsea fans after win over Brighton & Hove Albion

Mykhaylo Mudryk claims fans’ support for Chelsea against Brighton & Hove Albion gave him a big boost as he helped his side to a 3-2 win over the Seagulls.

The Ukrainian forward was in the starting lineup to face Brighton and had a decent outing, but his important moment came when he won a penalty for the Blues in the 61st minute, which saw Enzo Fernandez convert from the spot and make it 3-1. Mudryk also had his chance when he went past the Brighton defender before shooting it wide.

However, Brighton rallied back and tried to reduce the scoreline when Joao Pedro headed the ball in the 92nd minute, but Chelsea maintained their ground and ensured they got the three points.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk forward’s night came to an end when he was replaced by Armando Broja in the 81st minute, and the player was subbed off with waves of applause.

Mudryk overall had a reasonable match. The penalty he won was the most significant contribution he made on the night. Fans seem to support him a lot and the player loves the applause he gets, (h/t Express) as he revealed:

“[It gives me] a lot of boost, and I really appreciate the support of our fans. I really love them, and I thank you for their support. I try to always do my best.”

Despite not having much of an impact on the game, Mudryk was respectable on the left wing. He did, however, have an opportunity to score, but he botched it. With his speed, the 23-year-old can pose a serious threat to opponents, so there is definitely an opportunity for improvement, and perhaps Mauricio Pochettino will help him develop.

He’ll be our best player for sure once he picks up positional awareness because most of the time he gets caught out by defenders easily. He is also a little predictable with his passing and dribbling, which he will hopefully refine.
