Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid target Naj Razi

As per The Sun, Chelsea and Arsenal are set to battle Real Madrid for 17-year-old Naj Razi from Shamrock Rovers. The teenager has been a hot topic in Europe after breaking into the senior team of Rovers.

The midfielder has featured five times for the Irish club and is set to win the league title this week when they host Sligo Rovers at Tallaght Stadium. Razi’s ascendant has been quick; the player began his football career at an early age in his life and joined the club when he was just seven.

The 17-year-old’s success saw him represent Ireland U17s since 2020 and has starred in 17 games, racking up four goals and four assists.

Razi also represented Ireland in the Euro U17 and led the club to the quarterfinal, where they were knocked out by Spain after a successful group stage.

Despite interest from European giants, the teenager could remain at Shamrock Rovers considering the impact he is having on them. However, a move to the Premier League won’t be possible considering the league rules only allow players to participate when they are 18.

The Brexit rule implemented by the UK government means the London clubs will have to wait another year, which gives Real a massive boost to pursue the teenager.

Mauricio Pochettino of Chelsea is excellent at developing young talents.

Razi is still too raw to play for a major league team and is still in his developmental stage. When major European clubs begin to show interest in you at such a young age, you are something special. Given that Chelsea can find gifted youngsters like we did when we signed Kendry Paez, they will undoubtedly be eager to sign the player. He will have to wait another year, though, as Brexit regulations prevent him from joining us at the age of 17. That gives Real excellent odds of signing him.

He is still very young and will need at least two or more years to find his footing, so it will be totally up to him whether or not he wants to join them.
