Levi Colwill believes Chelsea sensation Mykhaylo Mudryk has the potential to become the world’s best player

Levi Colwill has insisted that his Chelsea teammate Mykhaylo Mudryk has the potential to become one of the best players in football after the Ukrainian international finally opened his Chelsea account against Fulham.

The 22-year-old had a difficult time transitioning to life in West London after moving there from Shakhtar Donetsk for £89 million last January. But after scoring his first goal for the Blues in a 2-0 victory over Fulham, the youngster finally felt some solace.

His goal came in 24 appearances for the Blues, and the Ukrainian will hope to continue his goal scoring streak in the next few games, as the Blues will face Burnley next weekend.

Colwill, who was set up by Mudryk for his first Chelsea goal, has made an audacious statement about the 22-year-old, (h/t Metro), as he told the media:

‘‘He’s a great player. He can be one of the best in the world. He’s got everything you want as a winger and as a player. It’s tough coming from Ukraine to Chelsea. There’s a lot of pressure that he may not have experienced, a different culture, and other things together.’’

Despite the ridicule from elsewhere, Mudryk continues to improve steadily. Now that he has scored his first goal, we hope the youngster kicks on and goes on to silence his doubters. The quicker we get to see the player who impressed at Shakhtar Donetsk, the better.

Is it premature to say this? Maybe not, but Mudryk will unquestionably assert his reputation as one of the top players in football with the correct guidance. He is still young and needs proper nurturing; we signed him when he was developing at Shakhtar. He plays for one of the biggest clubs, and considering how much Chelsea paid for him, his performance will be constantly in the limelight.

What we have seen in past games is that Mudryk has shown signs of improvement, and with each game, he will certainly get better because he has the talent to achieve one of the best player statuses in football, but it will take time and fans will have to have patience.
