It is not easy to understand why Juventus are so keen on offloading Dusan Vlahovic, a very good striker in his own right but Chelsea could look to profit from this situation by trying to sign the Serbian striker in the summer.
The Blues wanted Vlahovic for this season itself and were looking to include Romelu Lukaku in the deal to sweeten it. However, the Italian giants backed out of the deal and an actual transfer never materialised.
Now, Juventus want to negotiate a swap deal for the 23-year-old striker but we don’t have Lukaku to offer right now. Technically, he is still our player but he is killing it in Roma and it will be a huge surprise to see them not make this deal permanent.
The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson this summer. The talent and potential are very obvious. Sadly for him though, he has not been able to score as many goals as he would have liked and is very much a work in progress at the moment.
Mauricio Pochettino might be looking at a more experienced striker with a natural instinct to score goals to lead the line. Vlahovic might only be 23 but he has been around the block for a while and will be a superb signing to make.
According to Di Marzio who told Insider Sport (h/t Football. London), Juventus are still looking to sell the Serbian and are hoping that he scores a few goals regularly that could drive his market price right up.
Whilst a swap deal might not be possible at the moment, Chelsea must seriously consider making this deal happen. The quality that a player like Dusan Vlahovic can bring to the table in a position where we are struggling cannot be understated.
Arsenal are also interested in the player despite already having Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. However, with the promise of much more game time, we might lure Vlahovic to the West of London instead of the North.
Vlahovic is a very good player. Signing him would do the world of good for us. If possible, we must make this deal happen but only time will tell how it actually pans out.
