Chelsea star Mukhaylo Mudryk discloses coaching staff told him to try to score that audacious goal against David Raya

Mykhaylo Mudryk finally scored his first Stamford Bridge goal which came against a side that battled with Chelsea for the acquisition of the Ukrainian forward.

However, if you see the effort you’d assume it was an unintentional goal but Mudryk has finally shed his light on his audacious strike against Arsenal and revealed the goalkeeper coach told him to look at the goalie positioning because sometimes they lose their spot.

This inspired the 22-year-old forward to chip in and score one of the most beautiful goals the fans witnessed after a long time, and maybe it could be the Premier League goal of the month, who knows.

This was Mudryk’s second goal for the Blues after the former Shakhtar Donetsk player finally broke his duck for the Blues in Chelsea’s 2-0 triumph over Fulham.

Hopefully, his goalscoring trend will continue and the forward appears to be brimming with confidence. He further gave a detailed explanation of how he was told to score his sensational goal, as he said to Chelsea’s official website:

‘It was something in the middle, between a cross and a shot. Before the game, our goalkeeper coach told me to look at their keeper because sometimes he is trying to read things and he can just lose the goal, so I can chip him. So it was something I knew and I kept it in my head. I went for something between the cross and the shot and it was a good decision.’’

If you witnessed that goal, you might assume it was a fluke, but Mudryk’s admission that the goalkeeping coach instructed him to attempt that shot makes the goals even more spectacular. How he judged the situation and saw the custodian was out of his position in that short time is remarkable. Given that he has struggled to maintain consistency, the goal meant a lot to him.

Mudryk’s striking skills have significantly improved, and he has now scored three goals in his last three games for club and nation. He has greatly improved his striking powers, as evidenced by the goal he scored for Ukraine in their 3-1 victory over Malta.
