Mauricio Pochettino expects Chelsea to make four more signings before the transfer window deadline

As per transfer confidential from Simon Jones for the Daily Mail, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is expecting the club to make four more signings before the deadline of this transfer window.

In terms of bolstering the senior squad this season, the Blues have made some shrewd signings in this window so far. Christopher Nkunku arrived early from RB Leipzig, followed by Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, Axel Disasi from Monaco and Robert Sanchez from Brighton.

Chelsea are in continued talks to sign Moises Caicedo from the Amex Stadium. Brighton have rejected three offers from the Blues so far but the player has missed the latest training session to force a move to Stamford Bridge. We might see that happening before the deadline.

To further bolster the midfielder, Leeds United’s Tyler Adams is among the players linked. The USA international has a release clause of £20m which would be helpful for Chelsea to speed up the negotiations if personal terms are agreed upon.

Blues are also in the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the young Frenchman. So, it might not be straightforward to get this move completed.

The centre-forward situation could yet be sorted with the addition of Juventus number nine Dusan Vlahovic. Chelsea are in talks with the Serie A side for a swap deal that will include Romelu Lukaku going the other way.

The priority, however, must be the midfield position. We cannot start the new season with just Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher as our senior options there… it would be far too risky.

With just over three weeks remaining in this window, the club has to speed things up if the four anticipated signings are to be completed. The priority has to be the midfield because there have been plenty of departures from that department in the last few weeks.
