AC Milan in final stage of negotiations to sign Chelsea forward

The deal to get Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic move to AC Milan has entered the final stage

As per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and AC Milan are in the final stages to agree on a deal for USA international Christian Pulisic in the coming days.

Milan sent a second bid of €22m in their attempt to sign Pulisic on Wednesday. That offer is somewhere close to the range of price Chelsea want for the 24-year-old.

It is revealed that the negotiations are in the final stage and the deal structure is being discussed. Although the move is not done yet but it seems like a matter of time before it happens. Pulisic has said yes to a move to the Serie A side.

Four years ago, Chelsea spent £57.6m to sign Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. After an underwhelming stay as a Blues player, getting even half of that price would have been an issue. It has turned out that way. The USA international’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires next summer. That might have not helped matters in the asking price being more.

Serie A is a technical league with less pace and intensity compared to the Premier League. In a way, Pulisic’s game could suit well there. He is an excellent player on the ball, can beat defenders on the dribble and be a point of difference in the final third.

Not being able to grasp the speed of games in England can be an issue for players at times. It seems like the American superstar felt that here. The intensity, physicality and competitiveness even from teams at the lower end of the table make it a relentless league to play in.

For Chelsea, they have already signed Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Christopher Nkunku in the last 12 months to cover up the positional departure of Pulisic.

It is another player being sold by the club at a reasonable rate. The club has done an excellent job in clearing out the squad and earning enough money from that to balance the financial books following crazy spending in the last two transfer windows.
