Chelsea ace Hakim Ziyech rejects renewed Al-Nassr offer after failed medical

According to CBS Sports, Chelsea wantaway star Hakim Ziyech has rejected Al-Nassr’s reduced offer after a medical with the Saudi Arabian club. Cristiano Ronaldo’s club offered a lower salary, a 40 per cent hit on the previous offer due to the player’s medical situation.

The former Ajax Amsterdam player was set to make a move for a lucrative offer. However, a knee issue was detected, putting an end to his hopes of making the switch.

It was understood to be an £8 million move for the Moroccan, but the player has now returned to Cobham for pre-season training under Mauricio Pochettino. His future at the club currently is in a limbo.

The 30-year-old also mocked the Saudi club after failing a medical, as he posted on Instagram with the caption “knee problem” with laughing emojis. How he can expect a friction free relationship after that jibe is debatable.

This has now been Ziyech’s second failed move out of Stamford Bridge after the player’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain also fell apart on January 2023 deadline day. Meanwhile, his time at Chelsea last season was disappointing, as he has struggled with form and fitness.

Given that the Blues have made two attempts to transfer Ziyech and failed in both instances, the attacker’s time at Chelsea could be coming to an end. He has also demonstrated no desire to compete for the position at Stamford Bridge, and now that he has turned down Al-Nassr’s second offer, his future is an open book.

It is unlikely that European teams will make the winger a sizable offer in the meantime. It would be sensible for him to agree to their second approach and play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo there. A parting of the ways is the best foot forward for both Chelsea and Ziyech.
