Chelsea have been backed to transfer-list out-of-favour winger Christian Pulisic for the third transfer window in a row by journalist Paul Brown.
The journalist exclusively told GiveMeSport:
“I think Pulisic is another one who is more likely to leave Chelsea this summer if they can find the right transfer for him. Both sides have known for a while that Pulisic would be made available for transfer.
“He’s been available in the last two windows. I think he was ready to move on if the right offer came in. That didn’t materialise.”
This is a new era we are entering with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm. Any claims about a player leaving or wanting to leave right now wouldn’t carry a lot of weight in the eyes of some simply because ‘Poch’ is just getting started.
He will obviously take time to get to know all the players, assess their strengths and then decide on their futures. Let us hope he can help Pulisic rekindle his career in west London, because he cost a pretty penny.
We paid $79million – an American record fee – for the winger back in January 2019 to Borussia Dortmund. But since then, Pulisic has blown hot and cold.
He has occasionally shown us a glimpse of his blistering pace coupled with his mazy dribbling skills. But he has largely failed to develop at a rate Chelsea would have wanted him to.
He has just over a year left on his contract (Transfermarkt). If we don’t plan to offer him a new deal, then this summer could be the last chance we get to recoup some of the big money we paid for him.
The hope would be that Poch helps him rediscover his form at Stamford Bridge, but if that doesn’t look like a possible scenario, it is best to cash in on him ASAP. Juventus have been touted as a potential destination for the USMNT star.
