Mason Mount agrees personal terms with Manchester United as Chelsea exit draws near

Mason Mount and Manchester United have reached an agreement regarding personal terms ahead of a Chelea exit in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Man United will now push for the transfer after the FA Cup final given that personal terms agreed between the sides. It puts the Blues in a difficult position ahead of the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino.

The 24-year-old’s contract only has one year left and despite several conversations, is no closer to penning an extension at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are seeking £75 million for the 24-year-old, a small fortune given the short hand we hold in negotiations.

While Mount currently prefers a move to United over Arsenal and Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino still wants to keep him. However, the manager has not yet initiated a conversation with Mount and could find things difficult now.

Due to his resilience and work ethic on the pitch, Erik Ten Hag is a fan of the England international. The 24-year-old endured a sporadic season after missing most of the games due to injuries and making only 20 starts.

Losing Mount will certainly be a big blow for us, and it will be worse given he is just 24. At United, he can hit his peak, given Ten Hag helped Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho find their form this season.

It will be the third time we will see our midfielder leave for United, given Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata joining United in the past. Hopefully he will not succeed at the Theatre of Dreams and will in time regret the decision to leave the Bridge.

However, the fans should move on if he does end up joining them. It will not be the end of the world, and will give us the option to bring through players who are keen to stay put and make a difference.
