Ian Wright insists Chelsea starlet Noni Madueke needs to work on his end product

Arsenal legend Ian Wright asserted that Chelsea have a brilliant youth prospect in Noni Madueke, although he pushed Madueke to improve his final product after the Blues’ 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

This was Madueke’s second straight start after starting against in a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal, where he also put forth a strong effort and scored his first goal.

The 21-year-old was acquired by Chelsea in a £29 million move from PSV during the January transfer window, although he has so far only appeared in eight Premier League games. After a resounding victory over Bournemouth, the West Londoners halted their six-game losing streak.

Wright is optimistic that the former PSV Eindhoven star will emerge as Chelsea’s top player, (h/t although he pointed out that the player still has to improve on his final pass. as he said on BBC Match of the day:

“He was very, very good today and gave Vina a lot of problems. I think today he did [make the difference]. This was the problem with him—the final ball. He holds it and holds it; in the end, this is what he’s going to have to learn quickly to make better decisions in that instance.”

He demonstrated his abilities and even scored against Arsenal. There have even been calls from fans that the former Tottenham Hotspur academy player should start over the likes of Raheem Sterling and Hakim Ziyech.

Given how much trouble Madueke was giving Bournemouth’s left-back, Matias Vina was not able to stop him from getting past him. In this case, Ian Wright is dead on target; Madueke, who is only 21 years old and has a very high ceiling, was great in every aspect.

Like many young wingers, Madueke isn’t the best when it comes to his end product. That should come with time. His displays have been very promising and he is all the materials needed to be a world-class player. He just needs a coach who trusts him and has to continue putting in the hours in the training ground. The sky is the limit for him.
