Chelsea ready summer fire sale with FFP on the horizon

Chelsea will have to sell a number of players in order to adhere to FFP regulations

Chelsea must sell a plethora of players before June 30 in order to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations for next season.

The Blues will now need to balance the books, (h/t Evening Standard), to avoid breaking any FFP laws after spending £600 million under new ownership over the previous two transfer windows. Given the amount of money thrown around, it has been a sensationally poor campaign from Todd Boehly’s charges.

According to reports, players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, and Christian Pulisic might be sold in the summer. Cobham graduate Mason Mount is also linked with a move away as Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United circle.

Chelsea are under extreme pressure to sell the players before June 30 so that the proceeds may be included in their 2022–23 financial statements. Additionally, some teams including our rivals could profit from our poor planning.

Due to the fact that several club representatives and the club’s president were present at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, it is also said that the Blues are in communication with other clubs regarding the sale of players. The West Londoners want to offload players prior to the beginning of preseason so that the next manager won’t have to deal with an inflated roster.

We definitely need to create a place for players since our roster is too large, which makes it difficult for Graham Potter to address the team or conduct a training session. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, Romelu Lukaku, and Christian Pulisic are unquestionably among the peripheral players that ought to depart in the summer.

Although Loftus-Cheek has performed admirably, the managers have not placed enough confidence in him. So, he should need to depart to see more game time. With a smaller team, the new managers will have an easier time getting familiar with the players and organising effective training sessions.

The most crucial thing is to maintain financial stability because if we break FFP rules, we risk ending up like Manchester City. And there are harsh penalties for breaking the FFP guidelines.
