Chelsea loanee Malo Gusto suffers hamstring injury in Coupe de France clash vs LOSC Lille

Malo Gusto signed for Chelsea during the January transfer window before returning him on loan to Olympique Lyonnais. He has now suffered a hamstring injury against LOSC Lille in a Coupe de France match.

According to Football.London, the player was clutching his hamstring as he left the field, and the severity of the injury is still unknown. Hopefully he will not be rushed back into action and will be given time to recover completely.

The severity of a hamstring injury, though, determines how long you will miss out on the action. The 19-year-old will likely return to play more quickly if the problem is of a lower grade, but a more serious injury might rule him out for two to eight weeks.

Gusto will join Chelsea in summer.

The teenager agreed to a £26.6 million deal with Chelsea and should keep Reece James on his toes. The Englishman is a spectacular player but has struggled with injuries of late.

To give the player time to play and develop into a seasoned player before joining Chelsea in the summer, Gusto was loaned back to Ligue 1 club Lyon. In many ways, ti is a sensible decision that will give the youngster time to develop rather than throw him straight into the firing line.

Chelsea have been an unfortunate team considering their injury concerns this season. It would now appear that their loaned stars arent any different. Gusto is one of the brightest prospects n Ligue 1 and will only get better once he returns to action.

Additionally, the French player’s signing will undoubtedly assist the team in strengthening their right-back position, as Graham Potter and co were struggling due to James’ injury. With strength in depth now on offer, the Blues can go all out in the years to come.

More Chelsea News:

Cesar Azpilicueta, in contrast, doesn’t offer the same level of quickness and offensiveness as a contemporary right-back at his age. We just hope that he gets better quickly because we will be relying on him when he joins Chelsea in the summer to supply his defensive expertise.
