Malo Gusto wants to join Chelsea instead of Manchester United as the Blues look to submit another bid

Malo Gusto has stated that he would prefer to join Chelsea rather than Manchester United. It has been revealed that the player is a highly-rated member of Olympique Lyonnais, and Chelsea are interested in signing him as well.

According to Foot Mercato (via The Sun), the player has agreed to personal terms with the club and is eager to join.

Due to their history of injuries, Chelsea urgently needs a right-back, as Reece James has missed the majority of games. Cesar Azpilicueta cannot consistently play at the highest level given that modern-day fullbacks possess quickness and offensiveness.

However, Chelsea did make an offer of £18 million, which was rejected by Lyon as they wanted to keep the player until the summer, while Chelsea wants to sign the player in January only.

The 19-year-old wants to join Chelsea, and even Graham Potter is keen to bring him to the team, despite Manchester United’s desire. And it’s now being said that the Blues will reportedly make a new offer costing between £27 million and £35 million.

When the young player made his senior squad debut at the age of 17, he had just graduated from the Lyon academy and now has already made 54 appearances for the team.

Moreover, he has made 17 appearances in Ligue 1 this campaign, registering one assist for the French giants. The fact that he prefers Chelsea to United suggests that the player appreciates the team and it shows he will be committed to West Londoners.

England and Chelsea right-back Reece James.

Additionally, he is only 19 years old, so it will not be a concern even if he does not receive more playing time since he is still developing into an experienced right-back and has a long way to go.

Chelsea, which are bringing in young players, wants to create a team that has a future. And even if United decides to chip in it could be challenging to fit in considering Diego Dalot has been outstanding for United, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is returning to form.

More Chelsea News:

The outcome of transfers is still uncertain, but Todd Boehly would like the youngster to solve the right-back issue, as Chelsea are still yet to sign a right-back.
