Chelsea enquire with Tottenham Hotspur for a swap deal involving Yves Bissouma and Hakim Ziyech

Chelsea have inquired Tottenham Hotspur over a deal for Yves Bissouma that could involve Hakim Ziyech moving the other way.

This comes after The Telegraph (subscription needed) (h/t Football.London) reported that Chelsea are looking to make a bid to sign Yves from Tottenham but have received no response so far.

Tottenham are unwilling to sell the play despite his mixed start to life in north London. To add to Chelsea’s concerns, Spurs do not appear too keen on Ziyech.

Graham Potter is keen on bringing Yves Bissouma to Chelsea.

The 26-year-old is familiar with Graham Potter, as he previously played under him at Brighton & Hove Albion. He made 125 appearances for the Seagulls, registering six goals and three assists.

He later joined Tottenham in 2022 as Antonio Conte sought to add steel to the middle of the park. Despite making 22 appearances, Bissouma has far from guaranteed himself a starting spot at the N-17.

Tottenham have no plans to sell the player, so convincing them otherwise would be difficult. Ziyech, meanwhile, is coming off a spectacular World Cup with Morocco where he was a consistent performer.

Chelsea are interested in signing Yves Bissouma from Spurs.

However, his future playing time at Stamford Bridge may be in jeopardy as Chelsea have agreed on a deal to acquire Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven. The arrival of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Joao Felix only makes the task harder.

A midfielder is on the agenda at Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea have also failed with an attempt to reunite Potter with another former midfielder of his, Moises Caicedo.

In order to balance the roster, the Blues may want to consider releasing a few irrelevant players. Given that we frequently find ourselves outplayed in the middle of the field, a defensive midfielder with the ability to alter the outcome must take precedence over a central midfielder.

More Chelsea News:

Despite Bissouma’s poor current season, Potter will know how to utilise the player better. Knowing that he is young and could adapt to a 47-year-old’s style of play, we could infer that the English tactician could have a plan for him. However, it remains to be seen if our arch rivals are open to doing business in a way that could strengthen in a vital position.
