Arsenal ready to rival Chelsea for Moises Caicedo and Amadou Onana

According to Evening Standard, Arsenal are ready to rival Chelsea for the moves of midfielders Moises Caicedo and Amadou Onana.

Chelsea have had a long-term interest in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Caicedo, while the links with Everton midfielder Onana have been recent.

The Blues also had a £55m bid rejected for the former. They are open to signing him either now or during the summer transfer window. The latter is another target alongside Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez.

Arsenal and Chelsea have had recent transfer rivalries. The latter pipped the former in the race to sign Mykhailo Mudryk. The Gunners did get Leandro Trossard from Brighton, a player their London rivals have long been linked with since the appointment of Graham Potter as their manager.

They both are in the race for England international and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice too. Recent reports suggest that the player is favouring a move to north London.

So, the next few days and months will see the London clubs doing a battle to sign the aforementioned midfielders. Caicedo is a quality player who can improve any team in the world. He is dynamic, can pass with accuracy, works hard off the ball and is a monster in duels.

Onana, although in a struggling Everton team, has been one of their better players. He is a physically strong midfielder who can impact games on both sides of the field.

It remains to be seen regarding the future of these players. With Arsenal currently top of the table and favourites to win the league, it might be tough for Chelsea to keep attracting the top talents.

For that reason, to remain competitive in the market during the summer, Potter’s men must finish in the top four and have Champions League football to offer.
