Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria positive about his loan spell at the club

As quoted by Goal (h/t Football.London), on loan Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria has talked about the challenges he has faced during this spell at the club but remains positive.

Zakaria, who arrived on the deadline day of the summer transfer window on loan from Juventus, has played a total of 129 minutes for the Blues so far this season.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder was part of the Switzerland squad that reached the last-16 stage of the World Cup before getting thrashed by Portugal.

Here’s what Zakaria said regarding his time at Chelsea and staying positive (h/t Football.London):

“I still need to improve some things and show the coach what I can. When I get to play, I have to show that I am good. It has not been enough so far, but I work hard to get my chance in this big club.”

Despite getting little to no time on the pitch, the 26-year-old seems upbeat about the situation and is determined to work harder to earn his chance in the team.

If there is anything to go by, Chelsea have lacked a dynamic and physical presence in the midfield this season. N’Golo Kante has been a major miss.

Although Zakaria is not Kante, he has the dynamism and physicality to his game that can be used to good effect by Graham Potter.

The Blues are eighth in the league table and will need their fortunes to change in the second part of this season. Could it be that the 26-year-old becomes a part of the change that uplifts the team to reach the heights expected of them? Probably so.

Since they got knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Manchester City, Chelsea’s season resumes on 27th December in a league game against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

More Chelsea News:

It goes without saying that we need to restart with a win and then use the momentum to climb up the table and fight to win the remaining two cup competitions. Zakaria could well play a key role in doing so.
