Chelsea told what they have to do to sign World Cup star Josko Gvardiol

Speaking to GiveMeSport as quoted by Football. London, Chelsea have been told what they need to do in order to sign talented Croatian centre-back Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.

Gvardiol is one of the most sought-after defenders going around. His performances in the World Cup for Croatia have caught the interest of many clubs worldwide, and Chelsea are no different.

The 20-year-old was arguably the best centre-back at the World Cup and had an excellent game almost every time, except for the one time he came up against the eventual winner, Lionel Messi.

Gvardiol has been highly-rated for quite some time now during his time at Leipzig and this World Cup has only propelled him to stardom and if anything, increased his market value manifolds.

Buying clubs will know they have to shell the big sums for Gvardiol. However, they would have also realised that the Croatian can live up to such price tags and has the potential to be one of the very best in business.

Now, the Blues have been told what they need to do to sign Gvardiol and that they will have to splurge the cash to make this happen.

“Now, Leipzig want way more than €90million. They hope to go for more than €100million to make Gvardiol the most expensive centre-back ever. Chelsea are still working on it. They are still in contact with people close to the player and Leipzig.”

Chelsea made quite a few defensive reinforcements in the summer, signing Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella for huge sums. Fofana is definitely one for the future and Cucurella is a left-back.

However, Koulibaly, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are all in their 30s and the Blues need to start planning for the future. In that regard, Gvardiol makes perfect sense for Graham Potter.

More Chelsea News:

The Croatian could be a signing for the future, and also the present. He has what it takes to be the very best in the world and let’s see if the Blues can snap him up and make him a signing that could define the next ten years for us.
