Team News: Chelsea boss Graham Potter handed injury boost ahead of season resumption

According to Football.London, Chelsea boss Graham Potter has received a much-needed injury boost on three players ahead of season resumption in the last week of this month.

After getting knockout out of the Carabao Cup by Manchester City before the World Cup break, the Blues do not resume their season until 27th December, when they face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

There were multiple injury concerns in the squad going into the break, with key players such as Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana picking up injuries. The setbacks also ruled them out of participating in the World Cup which would have been utterly sad for them.

But, the report by Adam Newson of Football.London states that James, Fofana and Chilwell are progressing well with their recoveries and are on course to play the Bournemouth game in more than three weeks’ time.

The others on the injury table are Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Armando Broja. It remains to be seen when they will recover to take part in team training.

Chelsea are set to travel to Abu Dhabi for a mid-season warm-weather training this weekend. All the non-World Cup-bound players are due to travel, while the ones carrying the injury will join as well.

It is the first time since being appointed as the manager that Graham Potter will have extended time on the training pitch with the players. Granted, a few are in Qatar playing the World Cup, but it is enough for the Englishman to finally convey his playing style and take time on the field to perfect it.

More Chelsea News:

We are currently eighth in the league table. So, it is no secret that the game to resume the season against Bournemouth is a must-win. A win and it sets the right tone for a gruelling second half of this campaign.
