Alan Curtis believes Graham Potter will be a success at Chelsea

Speaking on Sky Sports, via Football Daily (h/t Daily Mail), Alan Curtis, who was the assistant to Graham Potter at Swansea City, believes that the latter will be a success at Chelsea.

The Blues have announced Potter as their new manager, succeeding Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked on Wednesday morning, hours after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

The former Swansea boss has signed a five-year contract with the club. The length of the contract is a show of trust from the board that this appointment will work as per their wish.

Potter is backed to be a success at Chelsea.

Talking about Potter at Chelsea on Sky Sports, here’s Curtis (h/t Daily Mail):

I think everyone can see that they’re going to get a first class manager and he’s an excellent coach, good communicator.

I have no doubt that if he goes to Chelsea he will be a resounding success.

Potter is a fantastic manager who has built his reputation and CV up in the last few years at Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League. His tactical knowledge has been hailed by many in the English top-flight.

The Englishman’s managerial history thus far does suggest that he makes players better and has a clear identity to how he wants his team to play. Whether he would get enough time to do that at Chelsea while keeping the results on the positive side is an interesting one.

It is also up to the players to adapt to the new style of play, trust the manager and abide by what he is trying to convey.

Potter has less than 48 hours to prepare his new team to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. He certainly won’t have much time to impart any significant tactical knowledge for that game.

More Chelsea News:

So, his first game properly as a Blues manager would be against RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday in the Champions League. The first job would be to get this team back to winning ways and help them keep clean sheets.
