Transfer News: Thomas Tuchel not in the mood to let Hakim Ziyech leave Chelsea in January

Talking (h/t Football.London) ahead of the Premier League match against Leicester City, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that the club has no plans of letting Hakim Ziyech leave Stamford Bridge in January.

Since joining west Londoners from Ajax in a £35million deal, Ziyech has struggled with fitness and form for the European Champions. He has given some good performances but consistency is the biggest problem with the winger.

After having a promising pre-season for the Blues – the 28-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in their UEFA Super Cup win over Villarreal and has struggled to get back to his best since then.

Thomas Tuchel, Manager of Chelsea has said that Ziyech has future at Chelsea.

The Moroccan international has been linked with a move away from Chelsea with a number of clubs eying to make a move for the highly-rate winger. However, Tuchel has now put an end to all the rumours.

“At the moment here in Cobham there are no thoughts about his future. There are no thoughts about a potential change, swap deal or whatever in winter.”

Despite the limited impact the Moroccan has had at the Bridge, Tuchel values what Ziyech brings to the table for the European champions. At 28, there is still time for the attacker to turn around his fortunes.

“ He is an important guy, a very talented guy, a very ambitious guy, and he’s a full part of our squad. He was last season, he is this season and we expect the very best of him all the time.”

Ziyech has failed to hit the same heights he showed at Ajax Amsterdam.

Ziyech would have to work real hard and has to give more than 100 percent so that Tuchel can give him consistent run in the team. At the moment, Germany’s preferred forward line consists of Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.

And with Christian Pulisic Back fit after injury – it’s an uphill task for the winger to get regular action at Stamford Bridge. Difficult but not impossible.
