According to Football.London, Thomas Tuchel had praised the Chelsea academy and its graduates following their 7-0 win against Norwich City in the English Premier League. The win saw them hold onto their position as the leaders of the Premier League.
The London giants thrashed Norwich in the match where they missed two of their strikers namely Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. However, they showed no signs of lacking key attackers and quickly put the Canaries to the sword.
The Blues’ academy graduates Mason Mount, Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi were on the scoresheet in the game. Mount was the hero of the match as he broke his goal drought with a hat-trick, showing once again why he is so important to Tuchel’s system.
Tuchel was full of praise for the Blues academy, praising the ability and mentality of the players come through. Well entrenched in the club’s ethos, they have brought the Blues spirit to the first team.
“It is (a dream). It is as easy as that, it is full of quality coaches and quality leaders and the guys who come from the academy onto our pitch are all of the same, made from the same spirit, same attitude, humble guys, who know what it is to play for Chelsea, know what it takes to be serious, to be humble, and there is no problem in being a nice guy and still playing a hard match of football and a serious match of football.”
Tuchel has every reason to be glad given the conveyor belt of talent coming through. Ruben Loftus Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah also came on and made their mark in the match against the Canaries.
The Champions League winners are known for producing quality players from their academy and they would be hoping to produce more talent to help them with their challenge to more silverware.
Chelsea are set to face Southampton in the English League Cup at Stamford Bridge in the next game and follows it up by facing Newcastle United on the road in the league. Given the good form we are on, the Blues could solidify their hold at the top of the table.
