Fabinho has tipped Chelsea to be favourites for Premier League title alongside Manchester City

Speaking in an interview (h/t football.london), Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has tipped Chelsea to be the favourite for the Premier League title this season alongside Manchester City.

Fabinho, who has been a rock in the centre of the pitch for Liverpool since he arrived at the club in 2018, won the Premier League with the Reds in 2020 but does not feel his team are favourites for the trophy this season.

So far, the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Everton are sitting top of the table with 10 points each while the likes of Tottenham, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Manchester City complete the Top seven by having 9 points each.

However, Fabinho believes that it will be last year’s PL champions Manchester City and UCL holders Chelsea who will be in the hot seat to win England’s first division title this season. Speaking in an interview, Fabinho said (h/t football.london)

“They (Manchester City), even being champions, winning titles, always want to reinforce, so they are favourites for the season. Chelsea, current Champions League champions, keep buying, too. I think these two teams come really strong, too, and are the favourites.”

The Blues added handsomely to their squad this season by bringing in Romelu Lukaku for a club-record deal of £97.5million from Inter Milan, while they also added Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez on a loan deal.

Although the Blues failed to get a deal over the line for French centre-back Jules Kounde, there remain pretty stacked in the centre-back options.

With nearly quality deputies in every area, the Blues could really come to the fore this season as Thomas Tuchel looks to guide the Stamford Bridge outfit to Premier League glory.
