According to Fichajes (h/t football.london), Chelsea are willing to let go of N’Golo Kante next summer despite incredible performances over the years.
The Blues signed the French international from Leicester City in 2016 after he helped the Foxes achieve a miraculous Premier League triumph. Since then, the 30-year-old has gone to establish himself as one of the key members at Chelsea under every single manager he has played under.
Kante was a vital part of the Blues lifting the UEFA Champions League earlier this year as the Frenchman produced a man-of-the-match performance in the final against Manchester City. However, the Blues are now aware that the midfielder’s contract will be up in 2023.
Given that he will turn 31 before the summer transfer window opens next summer, cashing in on him could be a wise option, and apparently, the Blues are ready to do so, according to Fichajes (h/t football.london).
There is said to be a lot of excitement around the fact that Chelsea loanees Billy Gilmour (Norwich City) and Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace) are performing well in their respective clubs. They are said to have impressed so far and could be retained by the West London club next season.
Moreover, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has also started to feature in a midfield role, while Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are also available at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal.
Thus, an exit for N’Golo Kante might just be the most sensible option for the London club. In fact, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be in the hunt for the midfielder’s signature. Hence, in a move that could provide a decent financial return to the Blues.
