According to transfer news from Daily Star, Chelsea are set to reduce the asking price for Tammy Abraham. The out-of-favour striker will have his asking price docked by at least 25% so as to facilitate a transfer for him.
Tammy Abraham is having a torrid time at Chelsea. It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench, or even out of the matchday squads in recent weeks. The striker has hardly featured over the last 3 months or so. He has often come off the bench in the dying minutes or not featuring at all.
The England international has slipped down the order after the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and Timo Werner. The likes of Werner and Kai Havertz have been preferred ahead of the academy graduate.
It was previously reported that Chelsea would ask for £40m for Abraham but recent reports suggest that it could be 25% lesser. A £30m asking price has now been quoted as interest grows in the player. West Ham have been one of the Premier League sides to show interest in the striker.
It’s honestly hard to justify Tammy’s constant exclusion under Tuchel. At this moment, the best option would be to cut the losses and let him leave for another club. Reducing his asking price might be a good way to attract more suitors.
