According to transfer news from Express, Chelsea are all set to enter the race to sign Hakan Calhanoglu. Director Marina Granovskaia is keen on the Turkish playmaker and the club have already contacted his representatives.
The 27-year-old AC Milan star is out of contract at the end of this season and that has fanned speculation about his future. Calhanoglu primarily plays through the middle but likes to drift out wide and create chances. He also has a decent record of scoring goals for the Italian giants.
AC Milan chiefs are keen on keeping him and it will likely be hard to prise him away from the club given how impactful of a player he is. Calhanoglu is currently free to sign a pre-contract with any side with his current deal in the final few months.
Chelsea have been linked to the playmaker as they want to refresh their options in the attack. The current crop has hardly been able to score without difficulty and only our defensive nous gave us the unbeaten 14-game run.
Contract talks between the player and club have stalled with wage demands being the issue.
The Blues are hoping to take advantage of the same but will face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Juventus, who are also keen on the midfielder. Juve are said to be leading the race but whoever can offer a lucrative package could end up going ahead in the race.
